The Alan Allen Show
I spent most of last
year developing a solo piano show. The songs contained therein fall under
the "Musical Comedy" category. Funny- yes. Sarcastic and politically
questionable...most definitely. But that is what humor is. It is the pushing of
boundaries to acceptable limits. It's true that "acceptable is a subjective term, but I don't believe any subject matter to be too "sacred". If
we are to become better, more sensitive people, and want to change the
ills of the world, we need to make fun of them wherever and whenever we
can in the hopes of shedding light on a problem through the incongruity of humor.
Nothing should be off limits and I don't believe in censoring one's
self or one's material. If you are sensitive to a certain subject- don't
involve yourself. Personally I don't believe in organized religion- so I
don't bother with it. As the saying goes- don't believe in abortion?
Don't have one. Don't agree with the whole gay marriage thing? Don't marry someone of the same sex. Problem solved have a nice day.
Sit back, give a listen and enjoy if you can.
Thank you.
